Hi guys. I really appreciate your podcast as a brief overview of what is going on in the Wikipedia sphere, and your take on it. I also really love how you engage with other language versions, in deed I feel this is some of the most valuable that you could do. I'm always frustrated that in any article in English media about the meaning or use of Wikipedia, they only discuss the English Wikipedia and it's specific problems or potentials... Every language Wikipedia is its own community, with its own ideosyncracies, conflicts, innovations and personalities, and I'd love to hear more about this.

Specifically, I'd love for you to find some people from the Chinese wikipedia and talk about things like the unification of the simplified and traditional character Wikipedia, which was a huge thing, both technologically and how they managed to get the two communities to work together (not just two, many - Malaysia, HK, Singapore, Mainland China, Taiwan, etc)... especially since for example Malaysia and Indonesia - whose languages are almost identical - have been asked to merge, but both communities refused.

Thanks and keep it going. looking forward to great material from the WikiMania too.

I am hoping to go to Wikimania. I would love to help out with any Commons related stuff.

BTW, your joking about Wikimedia/Wikipedia (did I hear 'Wikipedia Foundation' a couple of times? :)) reminded me of a recent discussion on the commons-l list:

me (talking about Commons material being used elsewhere on the web):
>>
Ubuntu desktops:
http://art.ubuntu.com/main.php?g2_itemId=592
(although 'Wikipedia Commons'... argh...almost!)
>
I suspect thats a battle that we're not going to win. ;)
Perhaps we should change our name to match perceptions?
>

I agree. And also 'Wikipedia Books', 'Wikipedia Source Library',
'Wikipedia News', 'Wikipedia Dictionary' and of course all managed by
the 'Wikipedia Foundation'.
>I'm waiting for wikipedia encyclopedia. I hear its going to be very
in-depth with lots of articles!

I thought it was a good podcast. I liked the live article editing. I just wanted to note something. When you were talking about gaming wiki and the bias towards the wii, I couldn't help but think about the fact that Wii is featured in English Wikipedia. Just another way of showing bias.
