Wikimania Day 1: Morning Update
The first day of Wikimania 2007 is well underway, and we’ve been hard at work (really!) to cover the morning’s events. In episode 23, we cover:
1. the opening keynote presentation given by Anthere and introduced by Jimmy Wales;
2. the Wikimedia Foundation press conference;
3. “Where have the content creators gone?” by Seth Anthony, “The conscientious copyfighter” by Kat Walsh, and other opening sessions;
4. the conference schwag.
In addition, we’re introducing a new “vox populi” segment, in which we give Wikimania attendees a chance to participate in the release of each morning episode. This episode, we ask them about themselves, their experiences with Wikipedia, and how they became involved with the project.
We’ll try to have another episode up tonight, with still more news on the conference. Until then, enjoy episode 23!
