  1. It was funny that you noticed my SVG workshop was among the sessions up against Jimmy’s talk. In the end, everything else was cleared from the schedule except for the workshop.

We actually packed out our small room. I guess some people liked having an alternative. But it was funny; about 10-15 minutes into our workshop, there was 2 or 3 *loud* announcements that Jimmy’s talk was now starting in the other room. As if to tell our audience, “This is your last chance!” ;)

  2. Liam: I found your comments about OSM interesting. Does Wikimedia(WMF) need to own everything that’s cool? (LiterateProgramming, anyone?) How far does our mission extend? How much can our community cope with?

Also, I wouldn’t have said WV was the most hobbling of the WMF projects. C’mon, it’s like a year old! What shape was Wikipedia in at that time?

  3. The comment on Arabic being able to report new information to it’s readers for the fist time is an important concept to grasp in looking at the future written about in wikipediastory! The comment was made by Jimmy as a glening from the conference. Also I liked that the no alcohol final party was able to put aside the wine industries saturation in western media TV shows of an intoxicant that steels away a rational mind and causes people to do obserd actions. Thanks for the podcast. ps I opened a new wikipedia page on TOE and it was deleted in seven minutes in the English wikipedia! Ironic? Yes it is.
