Hm, there are some annoying missing seconds from the discussion with Jimmy…. is that the ipod again?!

Re the death of foundation-l… you laugh, but really, it’s pretty tragic — that was the best channel we had, and it’s severely wounded, but nothing else has come to replace it.
For future Wikimanias, I would like to see a program like this:
MON: “Wikimedia Academy”. Purely newbie day, lots of ‘what is X project’ sessions, how to contribute.
TUE: “Talkfest” - BoFs + possibly unconference format. Very broad topics: Wikipedia, Wikibooks, Commons, Wikinews, Wikisource, Copyright/licenses, Chapters, Wikimedia & education, Wikimedia & academia, Translation, Community.
WED-FRI: Traditional conference format.

Brianna, yes that pesky iPod, even with it 95% empty still skips when recording. Argh. Fortunately only one siginificant dropout, but still annoying.
As for the conference format, I think that’s a great idea. There should be tutorial and how-tos at the beginning of the conference. Part of my proposal to Taiwan was doing some training/hands on in the Wikimania Lounge, so let’s see if we can’t get them to do more of that.
