Wikiquote is not well-defensible from the WMF <a href="http://wikimediafoundation.org/wiki/Mission" rel="nofollow">Mission</a> or Vision. Thanks for the plug on community-curated works. :)

Regarding Wikiquote, the very first post I wrote on my blog was about why I thought Wikispecies & Wikiquote would be the first projects to “leave the family”, so to speak. Wikiquote is not well-defensible from the WMF Mission or Vision.
