Regarding Wikiquote, the &lt;a href="http://brianna.modernthings.org/article/12/the-wikimedia-projects-history-and-deliberation" rel="nofollow"&gt;very first post&lt;/a&gt; I wrote on my blog was about why I thought Wikispecies &#38; Wikiquote would be the first projects to "leave the family", so to speak. Wikiquote is not well-defensible from the WMF &lt;a href="http://wikimediafoundation.org/wiki/Mission" rel="nofollow"&gt;Mission&lt;/a&gt; or Vision.</description>
